Chief Scientific Officer

The Company is a seed stage venture-backed company, with a vision to leverage AI/ML to unlock non-viral delivery for genetic medicines, including mRNA-based therapeutics, vaccines and gene therapy. The platform is powered by an integration of high-throughput screening wet lab capabilities with machine learning in order to develop LNP based drug delivery systems.

The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our life science initiatives, with proven experience in nanoparticle drug delivery both in academia and industry. The Chief Scientific Officer will be responsible for strategically guiding our research efforts by examining and incorporating state of the art scientific approaches.

This role involves collaborating internally with life science and data teams, as well as externally with potential partners. Additionally, the role requires collaborating with company leadership, board and the advisory board to align on the best strategy for achieving scientific breakthroughs.

The position requires a broad range of scientific expertise in drug delivery, nanoparticles, gene therapy, and the ability to translate scientific breakthroughs into clear external messaging.


  • Lead strategic research initiatives in nanoparticle drug delivery

  • Accountable for the scientific strategy of the company

  • Collaborate internally with life science, data and business development teams

  • Lead external scientific communications with partners, investors and public audiences such as conferences and papers

  • Lead innovation and problem solving to achieve scientific breakthroughs

  • Translate complex scientific concepts into clear communication

  • Stay updated on industry developments and scout for technology opportunities to collaborate

  • Lead scientific research projects with partners


  • Ph.D. in a lab focused on drug delivery, nanomedicine, gene therapy or related fields. Postdoctoral experience in a leading lab is highly desirable. (Ideally chemistry / biochemistry)

  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience

  • Excellent communication skills for internal collaborations and external partnerships

  • Strategic mindset for aligning scientific efforts with business goals
