The Company

Mana.bio is a seed stage venture-backed company, with a vision to leverage AI/ML to unlock non-viral delivery for genetic medicines, including mRNA-based therapeutics, vaccines and gene therapy. The platform is powered by an integration of high-throughput screening wet lab capabilities with machine learning in order to develop drug delivery systems.

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional data scientist to research, develop, maintain, test and evaluate data solutions, ML models and experiments. You will work closely with top scientists from the nanoparticles domain to tackle unsolved drug delivery challenges. As part of the data science team you will take part in building our ML infrastructure and play a critical part in how we generate data in our nanoparticles lab.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex projects from scratch, while communicating with different stakeholders

  • Take full ownership of machine learning models, from research to production

  • Research, develop, and apply machine learning, deep learning, and cheminformatics techniques, including NLP methods and graph neural networks

  • Create algorithmic prototypes and turn them into actionable recommendations to our nanoparticles lab

  • Work closely with data engineers, chemists and biologists

Requirements

  • MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related field with publications at top tier machine learning conferences or medical journals

  • 5+ years experience working as a Data Scientist or similar role using Python

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building machine learning and deep learning solutions to real world problems 

  • Proven technical experience to lead projects from research to production

  • Strong research capabilities, problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly scientific data to different stakeholders

  • Advantage: Experience with the cheminformatics domain
